Blue & Green holiday cottages: Katy’s Cottage, Brechin
At the heart of Glenprosen, one of the renowned ‘Glens of Angus’, lies the Balnaboth Estate, on the edge of the Caringorms National Park, Scotland, where six holiday cottages are located, available to book now through cottages4you.
The cottages were once occupied by shepherds, gardeners and other staff of the Ogilvy family when the buildings were a traditional Victorian estate. The cottages can accomodate between two and five people, with Katy’s cottage being a comfortable cottage for a couple.
The area enjoys a huge range of wildlife because of the varied scenery, from forests and heather moors to mountain streams and river pools. This makes the location an excellent place to enjoy country walks, bird-watch and appreciating the beauty of the natural environment. Guests can also experience mountain biking, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, fishing and golf, all within in an accessible distance.
Despite the seclusion of the peaceful glen, visitors will be just a few minutes drive from bustling market towns and busy fishing harbours. The city of Dundee, which offers many attractions, is also easily accessible.
Features: The single storey cottage has its own front garden with an open-plan sitting/dining room, small kitchen area, double bedroom and bathroom.
Sleeps: 2 / Pets: 1 / Bedrooms: 1 / Grade: 3 star
