Mr. Lior Handelsman (left), Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy at SolarEdge, sat down with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson MP, to discuss the future of the solar market in the UK.
In 2015, the UK is estimated to be the largest photovoltaic market in Europe and one of the world’s top five photovoltaic markets. The local market’s appreciation of high-quality photovoltaic products, combined with the long-term vision of market players, has supported SolarEdge in becoming one of the leading inverter brands in the market.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: “The trade mission was a fantastic chance to promote London as a thriving tech city and an opportunity to encourage lasting partnerships with some of Israel’s most innovative and creative minds. I want to shine a light on London’s home grown tech talent and strengthen our ties with companies like SolarEdge”
Active in the UK since 2010, SolarEdge is locally based at its Euston Square office in London, which allows quick and easy access to all parts of the UK and enables the company to host colleagues and customers for meetings and trainings. The SolarEdge solution is featured in thousands of PV installations on domestic and commercial rooftops throughout the UK, including a recent 1.68MW installation on top of the Western International Market, which is one of the largest rooftop installation in London.
“The UK PV market is important to the entire industry. In order to continue its success and growth, market stability is essential,” stated Mr. Lior Handelsman, VP Marketing and Product Strategy of SolarEdge. “I am hopeful that the market will regain its confidence in the proven benefits of solar energy. Not only is solar energy clean, renewable, and available everywhere, but it is said to have created around 27,000 jobs in the UK and 2,700 in London and is also helping to keep electricity prices low.”
SolarEdge is extending its product offering to include smart energy management and storage solutions, which will help to maintain the financial attractiveness of the local PV market.
Working closely with UKTI Israel and London and Partners further validated SolarEdge’s choice of London as our UK headquarters.
