An anti-litter campaign that has been launched to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday this year is supported by environmental reporting service, Love Clean Streets. Love Clean Streets is urging people to keep the momentum of reporting environmental issues flowing all year round using their simple to use smart phone application.

Company founder and CEO, Ian Blackburn, said: “The response to Clean for the Queen campaign so far has been fantastic, but we want reporting environmental issues to be in the forefront of everyone’s mind all year round.”

Research by Keep Britain Tidy found that around three-quarters of adults in England are proud of their town or city. One of the main reasons for this is the feeling that their town or city is clean.

Research also shows that people who are satisfied with the look of their local area are significantly more likely to feel safe in that area. Love Clean Streets makes it easy for local people to report issues instantly to their council to help keep their town or city clean and make everyone feel good about the place they live.

By downloading the app onto a smart phone, users are able to report environmental issues directly to their council through a simple three step process.

To get involved, users will need to download the app, and then when they come across an issue such as a fly-tip or dog mess, simply take a photo on the app and write a brief description before sending.

The local council will receive the photo, a brief description and GPS co-ordinates of the report and it will schedule the correct team to deal with the issue. The app ensures local residents help their local council to keep their town a cleaner, happier place to live.

Love Clean Streets is the UK’s leading environmental reporting service and is backed by the Keep Tidy groups across the UK. To find out more, visit www.lovecleanstreets.com.
