The historic market town of Ringwood is located on the eastern banks of the River Avon and the western edge of the New Forest. Also nearby is Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, and for days out Bournemouth is to the south and Salisbury is to the north.
The town, which dates back to Anglo-Saxon times, hosts a weekly market that takes place in the centre of the town. For more local produce of a liquid kind; Ringwood Brewery produces a variety of ales and wines.
There are many walking trails in, around and from the town, and fishing is available both on the River Avon, and on the surrounding lakes. Tennis courts, a bowling green, a skate park and a children’s playground provide further activities for all the family.
