This year’s Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC) conference took place at the end of May and The Energy Consortium (TEC) were one of the proud sponsors of the event. TEC are actively involved in the energy industry and have a key role in the promotion and development of an eco-friendly society. TEC are particularly involved with higher education, and have sponsored the EAUC conference in previous years.

The EAUC conference took place on 25 – 26 May 2016 at the University of the West of England in Bristol. The event considered the important role higher education plays in influencing the way cities and communities are designed, with the theme of Learning and Legacy: The Role of Education in Creating Healthier, Happier Cities promoting a cleaner, greener environment.

With TEC now a leading provider of collaborative energy procurement through its role in supplying energy-saving solutions to the public sector, and to universities and colleges in particular, this sponsorship opportunity enabled it to highlight the benefits TEC can bring to this industry.

Securing value for money and reducing costs are the main priorities across the entire UK public sector, and TEC is recognised by Cabinet Office’s Efficiency and Reform Group as a Public Sector Buying Organisation which complies with the Best Practice criteria for energy contracts.

Richard Murphy, TEC’s Managing Director, said: “Supporting this conference, along with other initiatives under our Platinum Membership of EAUC, assists our plan to engage with both new and existing members. It enables us to share our experience and knowledge of the industry, as well as offer the very best energy procurement solutions available while raising brand awareness.”
