These are the articles that have attracted the most interest on our site in the past week, and we’re republishing the links here to ensure you don’t miss out.
On Wednesday, we published our first report of the year: The Guide to Sustainable Tourism 2013, which we hope will inspire you to make responsible, sustainable and more informed choices when planning your holidays in the future.
We’ve had some really good feedback from it, so thanks to everyone who’s read it so far, and please do share it with as many people as possible.
Starting on Friday last week, we also published a three-part infographic series, created using figures from a Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) public attitudes survey. The first looked at whether the UK public supported or opposed renewables; the second asked about their opinions on five specific clean energy technologies; and the third examined what they thought of the economic and community benefits.
At the beginning of this week, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) revealed that Sir Adrian Montague would be stepping down from his role as deputy chair of the Green Investment Bank, while a day later, we reported on the launch of a guide that aims to provide impact investors with best-practice information into the sector.
Seven days ago, it was revealed that Lancashire county council’s pension fund would be investing £12m in the UK’s first community-owned solar development, Westmill, which is also believed to be the world’s largest solar co-operative.
We were also presented with the news that Conservative MP Tim Yeo and Labour’s Barry Gardiner had put forward an amendment to the energy bill that if implemented would see a 2030 decarbonisation target set by April 1.
Finally, on Wednesday, B> caught up with Joel Solomon, president of Renewal Partners, about how a brush with death spurred him on to use his business and investment nous to create a better future for generations to come.
